About Asia Cup 2023

The 16th edition of the Asia Cup in 2023 will feature One Day Internationals (ODIs) and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will see participation from six teams and is set to take place in August and September 2023. Sri Lanka will defend their title in this edition. It will be the first time that the Asia Cup is jointly hosted by multiple countries, with four matches scheduled to be played in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka.

The participating teams include the five full members of the Asian Cricket Council: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Joining them will be Nepal, who secured qualification by winning the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup, making their debut appearance in the ACC Asia Cup.

Originally scheduled for 2021, the tournament was postponed to 2023 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the pathway structure and calendar for 2023 and 2024 in January 2023, confirming the dates and format of the tournament. The fixture list for the event was revealed on 19th July 2023.
